Although the mini-computer lab is partially housed in the receiving
area of a small residential building, the set-up will be temporary.
The whole operation will be moving to the bigger Bayanihan
Center by the end of the year. This will be housed in a vacated
school building at Pasir Panjang, near the National University of
Singapore. This new venue will have more than ample facilities for
one or two proper computer labs. The monthly rental is funded by
the Philippine Government with a subsidy from the Singapore Government.
The Bayanihan Center will be shared by different Filipino associations
aside from FOWS.
The FOWS-STP, concurrent with the move to the new place, is doing
some organizational housekeeping. Committees will be set up to institutionalise
the existing ad hoc arrangements. At any rate, measures/policies/guidelines
will be made to facilitate and, in some cases regulate, computer
usage (e.g. setting up "KidSafe" from Apple Computer,
which limits internet access to "approved" sites if deemed necessary).

As for maintenance, an additional 2 computers will
be kept in storage for spare parts. The existing computer teachers
and other interested parties will be part of a pool of people trained
to maintain the computers. FOWS will be shouldering the maintaining
costs in the future, which will hopefully be kept at a minimum.
Moreover, FOWS will also be spending for the power supply, telephone
charges (dial up can be free using Starhub for internet access).
FOWS shall also organize and replenish a pool of volunteers to be
trained for the computer's upkeep.
